Course Overview

The MSA40311 Certificate IV in Process Manufacturing is intended for advanced production workers who use a range of equipment and are involved in solving complex problems which require theoretical knowledge, combined with an understanding of operating procedures directly related to producing products.

Course Outcome

Lead and mentored by group members undertaking a Diploma level qualification, students will assist in scoping business improvement projects and utilising a team of Certificate III participants in implementing change and inspiring a Lean culture within the workplace. Certificate IV level participants will develop an understanding of applying a continuous improvement strategy to achieve operational excellence through Lean Six Sigma. Participants will gain intermediate skills of what Lean Six Sigma principles have on offer. Participants will achieve an understanding in implementing the following Lean Six Sigma concepts:

Course Progression

Upon completion, Certificate IV participants who fast develop the natural ability in building an internal continuous improvement capability that will foster benefits in the long run may be upskilled to a Diploma of Competitive Systems and Practices and step up to the challenge of leading and planning Lean Six Sigma projects within their organisation.

Course Outline

To be awarded the Certificate IV in Process Manufacturing (MSA30311), students must demonstrate competency with a minimum successful outcome of twenty six units. Students will work towards achieving tangible outcomes through a series of workplace based activities and assessments in line with participating in group projects aimed to have a significant positive impact on the business and their day-to-day work processes.
